Sports and Teams at Woodkirk

With an outstanding record in inter-school sports, woodkirk provides the opportunity for students to develop a hobby, interest while representing the school. Inter-form competitions and tournaments are a regular feature of school life and the PE department annually produces lists of its achievements detailing results and awards in all sports and activities.

Health Related Fitness Week

The Health Related Fitness Week in school annually involves 1000+ students and encourages exercise and healthy living. The week involves pre-school and after-school activities including cross country running, weights and gym training, bench ball and other minor games, athletics, football, rugby and many more. Students who attend all the sessions (and many students do) receive a reward for their efforts. This is a challenging week for everyone involved - getting up an hour earlier and leaving an hour late - but the week is an extremely rewarding experience and most students come away feeling healthier, happier and more fulfilled.

Community Sports: Woodkirk hosts Leeds Schools' events and has primary school indoor athletic invitation meetings throughout the summer. Woodkirk also has a fantastic range of talented sports teams that compete against other schools in sports such as athletics, hockey, netball, football, rugby, basketball, cricket and many others.
